I truly belive that black carpet beetles can get under your skin or hair i have the same problem i truly think i m losing my mind and seeing little black specs in my hair and also in my kids hair i dont know if these bugs can kill you but all i know is my carpet and furniture and bedding are infested and i seem to be the only one who see s it.

While carpet beetles don t bite or feed on humans their larvae can irritate the skin. Although the biting of carpet beetles can cause bad symptoms on your skin actual dermatitis comes from a skin allergy that you have to these beetles. Red itchy and watery eyes runny nose itchy skin rash which looks like welts or bites and may cause a burning sensation hives gastrointestinal issues. These rashes will often itch and may even create a burning sensation.
If you notice bed bug like red spots and discover that you have carpet beetles but not bed bugs then they may be the cause. Carpet beetle larvae do possess small hair like bristles on their skin and these bristles may cause an allergic reaction if they come into contact with the skin. However if a person is allergic to the blood and hairs of carpet beetles then they could develop carpet beetle dermatitis just from being exposed to these elements. While carpet beetles can leave red bumps on the skin they are not real bites.
Carpet beetle larvae have prickly little hairs that cause a reaction in some people that looks very much like bed bug bites. The solution is to make sure all the allergens the hairs are removed from the environment. Rarely sensitized individuals may develop dermatitis due to the insects crawling over the skin. Such a reaction is likely to produce a visible rash or irritation that is sometimes mistakenly thought to be bed bug bites.
